PLAYWRIGHT STATEMENT: In Memory’s Kiss, we meet an older couple who are in the midst of learning how to adapt to the changes that come with the progression of Alzheimer’s disease. When the play begins, their only daughter, Liz, comes to stay with her mother so that her father can go on a brief overnight trip. The next 24 hours reveal truths about each of them that will change the course of their lives and each must examine what they need and what they can accept with grace. Through the lens of memory, transition, and change – two love stories are revealed. Skipping between past and present, a non-linear story unfolds in which dreams and plans come true in one breath and can die in the next, all leading the characters to question what lasting love is and what does family truly mean. ~ AM
